Hey guys-

I work as a volunteer with an organization called “Cats in Need of Human Care”. We are a non-profit organization, run by volunteers, who take in foster kittens and cats, and give them love, shelter and medical care until we find them a forever home. We’re a no-kill organization; that means that even if it means keeping a cat for the rest of its natural life and being its forever home... we'll do it. No cat is put to sleep because of a 'lack of space' while in our care. We keep them safe and loved.

We’ve acquired two kittens (named Taffy and Pinkie B.) in the Fullerton branch of the organization that have a medical condition known as eyelid atresia-- they were born without eyelids. This means that their eyes get dry very easily, and as they get older, their eyelashes will start to grow into their eyes and will eventually blind them.

Surgery to fix this problem is $4000 US dollars- the combined cost for both kitten’s surgeries. I’ve started a donation account to raise funds for these little one’s surgeries. I was wondering if you could post the link to it, as well as why it was started, in your journals. My goal is to raise $1000 dollars, or as close to that as possible, towards these kitten’s operation. It’s a high goal, but I think that with help getting the word out, it can be reached.

The name for this donation drive is “ Project Sight ”, because if we succeed, two little kitties will be closer to seeing the world though healed eyes.

The link is to the donation button posted on my live journal account; I’m not sure how to post the button here on deviant art. If any of you know, please let ME know so that I can put the button here and take a few clicks out of the process.

Please donate what you can. If you can't afford to donate, please put the link to this in your journal, and get the word out! Thank you a thousand times over, no matter what you do.

Hello there! There's a new item for sale in the Electric Catfish tank~! Dollfie Scarves are ready to be made to order-- any size or length [within reason] is acceptable. There is one limitation, however:

*I can't knit with wool, as I am severely allergic to it. However, there are plenty of absolutely gorgeous yarn types out there that don't have wool in them, such as cotton or bamboo.

I can knit with any color of yarn, and make your doll's scarf any length. ^_^

The prices are as follows:

MSD Thin Scarf: This is a scarf that is made to look like a skinny scarf. It costs $7. Extra colors can be added for $1 each. The extra charge is because I will have to buy the color and work it into the knitting.

MSD Thick Scarf: This scarf is a wider type, and is made to look more bulky on your doll. It's the kind that can be wrapped up and around to keep the cold winter winds out! It costs $10. Extra colors can be added for $1 each. The extra charge is because I will have to buy the color and work it into the knitting.

SD Thin Scarf: This lovely scarf is also made to look skinny around your doll's neck. It is slightly wider than the MSD Thin Scarf, as the size of the doll changes how the scarf look on it. This scarf is $8. Extra colors can be added for $1 each. The extra charge is because I will have to buy the color and work it into the knitting.

SD Thick Scarf: This scarf is a wider one as well, and is nice and cozy. It costs $11. Extra colors can be added for $1 each. The extra charge is because I will have to buy the color and work it into the knitting.

There are other things that can be added to the scarf, such as a charm, beads, or little fringes at the end. These cost extra, and are dependent on what you would like. Length past the "standard" is extra as well-- though please discuss it with me. I mainly refer to super-uber-Dr. Who-esque scarves when I talk about extra for length.

When you order, please include your doll's hight and shoulder width, as this will help me determine the length of the scarf. ^_^

I look forward to knitting for you!

Examples and human-sized scarves to come soon!!

-Loki

I need inspiration. It's driving me up a tree that I know I have the potential, I know that I have the talent-- and they're not meshing with the images that are in my head. Or at least, that's what would be going on if I had any damn ideas.

I don't have any ideas. >_<

It's also frustrating that there are a lot of artists out there who are abrasive and basically pricks, who have slightly better than mediocre art who are getting commissions up the wazoo, simply because of their popularity. I don't know if I should just start drawing popular stuff and bend to the will of the masses, or if I should stick with my guns and stay with no cash.

There's so many nice people out there, with wonderful art who don't get commissions that really freakin' should, because they're so sweet, kind and they put their hearts into their work. But... because of lack of recognition, because they don't draw the ';popular stuff', they don't get the patronage that they deserve.

I sound so bitter. XD;

May be very, very mildly unfriendly for a few of you. I'm not sure, but I like to be safe. Consider yourself warned.

So, in not-so-recent-recent news, I've been metaphorically been kicked in the ass to keep an eye on my hypoglycemia. This was finally a "Okay, I really have to do it...". I realized [since I've been keeping track] that every time I've felt irritable, sick to my stomach, dizzy, couldn't think straight, have passed out, had my heart racing or was just shaking badly that eating something that either metabolized into sugar or WAS sugary in and of itself... made me feel worlds better.

I bought a blood glucose monitor-- a smart decision. From the research that I've done, I've learned that I'd damn well better be keeping tabs on this, as it could land my sweet ass in the hospital otherwise. Which isn't something that I particularly want. From the few tests I've done [pre- and post-meal], I've also had my "this is important" feeling solidified. Normal blood sugar is supposed to be between 70-100/150 [I've seen both high numbers listed]. My blood sugar, at least today [as I tested when I was starting to feel vaguely crappy] was at 55. I've figured that 15 points below 'normal' is a Bad Thing. So I drank a soda, ate something with sugar and carbs and got myself feeling less shaky. That was around 18:30. My last test at 0:30 put me at 65. A slightly more comfortable number... until we tested Robby's blood sugar and it read for him [who is completely healthy and has no problem like this] at 93. -_- So I've been ordered to "eat a damn poptart".

=_= This is going to be fun, I suppose.
