May be very, very mildly unfriendly for a few of you. I'm not sure, but I like to be safe. Consider yourself warned.
So, in not-so-recent-recent news, I've been metaphorically been kicked in the ass to keep an eye on my hypoglycemia. This was finally a "Okay, I really have to do it...". I realized [since I've been keeping track] that every time I've felt irritable, sick to my stomach, dizzy, couldn't think straight, have passed out, had my heart racing or was just shaking badly that eating something that either metabolized into sugar or WAS sugary in and of itself... made me feel worlds better.
I bought a blood glucose monitor-- a smart decision. From the research that I've done, I've learned that I'd damn well better be keeping tabs on this, as it could land my sweet ass in the hospital otherwise. Which isn't something that I particularly want. From the few tests I've done [pre- and post-meal], I've also had my "this is important" feeling solidified. Normal blood sugar is supposed to be between 70-100/150 [I've seen both high numbers listed]. My blood sugar, at least today [as I tested when I was starting to feel vaguely crappy] was at 55. I've figured that 15 points below 'normal' is a Bad Thing. So I drank a soda, ate something with sugar and carbs and got myself feeling less shaky. That was around 18:30. My last test at 0:30 put me at 65. A slightly more comfortable number... until we tested Robby's blood sugar and it read for him [who is completely healthy and has no problem like this] at 93. -_- So I've been ordered to "eat a damn poptart".
=_= This is going to be fun, I suppose.
